Strictly Come Dancing: The Final
7pm, BBC One
Brace yourselves: this one’s going to be a waltz of emotions. Our three finalist couples – energetic Karen Carney and Carlos Gu, flawless Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin, and a hip-shaking George Clarke and Alexis Warr – take to the floor one last time, with songs including a Texas classic and a Killers banger, before the winner lifts the glitterball trophy. But then it’s time for Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly to sign off. After more than a decade presenting the show together, there are bound to be some tears and shared memories for the send-off of all send-offs. Don’t panic, though, as they’ll be back for the special on Christmas Day. As they always say: “Keep dancing!” Hollie Richardson

Blankety Blank Christmas Special

Madness: Radio 2 in Concert
9.10pm, BBC Two

Sharing more DNA with Ian Dury than their two-tone peers, but with a slapstick surrealism entirely their own, Madness occupy an almost unique place in pop, Nutty-dancing from music hall (House of Fun) to English romanticism (the Nick Drake-alike One Better Day) without ever losing their identity. Recorded last November at Broadcasting House in London, here’s a joyous raft of hits. Don’t watch that; watch this. Ali Catterall
